– A fantastic opportunity to see Roman ‘finds’ from previous excavations at Rochester and to join 2 short guided walks to see a ‘live dig’ with an archaeologist and volunteers on hand to answer your questions.
10.30am to 3.00pm – Finds from Previous Excavations on display at the Rochester ‘Roundhouse’ (next to Rochester Relish Café and opposite Rochester Village Hall) NE19 1RH, (What3Words location ///film.sideboard.contacts) – with Alex Croom Roman finds expert – Drop-in – no booking required to view the artefacts
These are short guided walks to the dig site starting from Rochester Roundhouse led by archaeologist Professor Jim Crow.
Reasonable fitness and mobility is required – uphill over rough ground with 2 step & ladder stiles. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Sorry NO dogs.
Stout footwear or walking boots needed.
Please come prepared for sun, wind and rain.
